After a discussion of what is known as the Metaverse by the chief executive of Facebook, the Metaverse has now become the topic of debate on the Internet. The metaverse, up until recently, was an idea that scientists had of connecting our physical world to virtual reality. However, today Facebook along with other businesses are working on making this technology an actual reality shortly.
What is Metaverse?
The Metaverse is a mix of Augmented and Virtual Reality and it is becoming a component of the technology we use in our daily lives. A mix of reality will encourage digital elements within our actual world, and also link everyday activities of our lives to virtual reality.
It’s like a 3D online world that unites a variety of virtual worlds. It is considered to be the technology of tomorrow for the Internet. Metaverse users will be able to collaborate, virtual meet, and even play games in 3D.
What is Microsoft’s Metaverse?
Speaking about the brand new Teams feature at the Ignite event, Microsoft said that users can create a virtual environment in which they can gather and share ideas. The feature is powered by Microsoft’s Mesh technology, which combines virtual and augmented reality with the use of specific glasses which include the brand’s HoloLens.
Microsoft has begun work on its first product – an online edition of Microsoft’s Team Chat with a digital avatar and MS Office suite. The company says it will be ready in the first quarter of 2022. “This pandemic has made business use cases a lot more mainstream, even though consumer goods sometimes seem like science fiction,” stated Microsoft Chief Executive Satya Nadella.
To reach this goal Microsoft came up with Mesh an innovative platform that will connect to Teams remote office tools. By integrating this platform, Microsoft hopes to combine virtual reality and the workplace.
Microsoft is expected to launch Mesh for Teams in the first quarter of 2022. It will bring mixed reality capabilities to Videoconferencing as a platform. Teams, which is home to 250 million active users per month and is currently being touted as the entry point to Metaverse.
Mesh for Teams is a free app that anyone can use from any smartphone, from laptops, as well as mixed-reality headsets, which are created to make online meetings more intimate, enjoyable, and enjoyable. It’s also a portal to the metaverse, a recurring digital universe that is populated by digital twins of individuals as well as objects and places. Consider the metaverse as an entirely new version – or idea on the web, one in which people come together to share information and collaborate, as well as share their virtual presence regardless of devices, the company said in the statement.

Within the Microsoft Metaverse, each employee can design their 2D as well as a 3D avatar that can be used to make video calls using an animated avatar. Through artificial intelligence (AI) avatars feature each employee’s voice to talk to colleagues during meetings, discussions as well as other kinds of activities.
Microsoft is taking this latest step. In the last few months, the pandemic has forced a lot of workers to remain at their homes and use it as their new workplace. The companies will be able to develop their meta-space that employees will be able to use 3D avatars that they can interact with.
Metaverse is not new to the world of blockchain and cryptocurrency. One of them is Decentraland which is a virtual universe built on Ethereum. It also has its token, MANA, whose price has been up by 400 percent following the announcement by Facebook.
Xbox gaming games feature their Meta world: Nadella also talked about how the Metaverse will be incorporated into the video game for Xbox which is where Halo, Minecraft, and Flight Slim are the most prominent, but the developer didn’t offer any more details on this point. One could “absolutely hope” to develop “something” for video games.
Google also planning: Google has told about Google Lens that camera, the device can take pictures of the object and then the technology can search that image on Google to be shared with others. The system can also be utilized with headsets from the metaverse.
