Quantum Computing

What is Quantum computing?

Quantum computers are computers based on the quantum theory of physical science. That, thanks to the aid of quantum theories will allow the system to perform extremely fast. Even today’s supercomputers perform very slowly in the face of quantum computers. The tasks supercomputers accomplish take weeks, quantum computers can complete the work in just a few seconds.

Because these computers can provide more than two values at the same time, they provide greater efficiency in work than conventional computers. Quantum bits used in quantum computers are present in their normal state. To allow these quantum bits to function as they should they must be kept at a temperature that is below zero degrees.

If a greater amount of qubits are present in these computer systems, the system will have quicker speed. This is why IBM plans to create the first quantum computer with 1000 qubits shortly. Normal computers utilize binary digits for tasks. They represent two values of data: ON, OFF, or 0, 1. the quantum computer itself employs qubits in its operation. It can display two data values, 0, and 1 as well as separately. This allows it to display multiple values simultaneously.

Classical computers employ bits or binary digits to store and retrieve data. They can display only two numbers 0 and 1 at the same time. However, in quantum computers, qubit, or quantum bit qubit can be utilized to store and retrieve information. Also, it can show 1and 0 at the same time.

This computer can display more data values. This is why it’s more efficient than a regular computer. Qubits are present inside these computers. They are capable of accessing data by making use of protons and electrons. The Superposition and Entanglement method is employed by Qubit to analyze the data.

To keep this feature of quantum bits within these computers the computer is kept to operate at temperatures less than zero degrees. It is a significant expense to achieve this and also improves the performance of the computer. Nowadays, many large companies in the world are involved in the production and development of quantum computing. They include Google, IBM, Microsoft, and Intel.

Quantum computing is a type of computer that is based on the principles of quantum mechanics in physics. Making a system where molecules and atoms can compute and obtain accurate results has been a huge problem for physicists. While in conventional computers every bit of information is encoded within the binary system, namely as 0 or 1. Quantum computers have information encoded in qubits.

Quantum computers perform calculations with quantum bits at extreme speeds that are not possible for conventional or normal computers. Quantum computing isn’t simple. It can be said that quantum computing incorporated the particles and atoms in the related components of quantum physics and put the quantum bits, creating the processor as well as the memory of the computer. Google proved in the year 2019 that quantum computers can solve a problem within minutes while a traditional computer would require 10,000 years.

Quantum computing is likely to alter the map of the world. From the field of medicine and medicine, the ways of communications, and the use of artificial intelligence, it is likely to entirely alter. Today, big IT companies such as IBM, Microsoft, and Google are working hard to achieve it.

However, America, as well as China, has invested millions of dollars to acquire the technology in its first place. In the year 2000, Google scientists claimed that they had developed the quantum supremacy technique.

Characteristics of Quantum computing

  • Quantum computer is based using the quantum theory of science.
  • These computers are thousands of times more efficient than the supercomputer.
  • Quantum bits, also known as Qubits, are utilized in these computers. These bits can display both 1 and 0 values simultaneously.
  • This computer must be kept at the temperature of operation below zero degrees to perform its function. Quantum bits that are not able to have to lose their property of work.
  • Every quantum bit represents an atom or an atom. The information is understood with the aid of the protons and electrons.
  • Quantum bits, also known as Qubits, are utilized in these computers. These bits can display both 1 and 0 values simultaneously.
  • Calculations made by this machine are quicker than supercomputers and operate on quantum theories.
  • Quantum computers are extremely sensitive. The delicate movement of quantum states and fluctuation in temperature could cause the system to fail.
  • Comparatively to supercomputers computers are extremely expensive and hard to operate.
  • Quantum computer systems are maintained at sub-zero temperatures to ensure their functions are in balance.
  • It requires less power than supercomputers.

How does Quantum computing work?

Quantum computers, instead of using bits utilize qubits. This means that instead of being switched on and off as bits are, qubits are also able to be placed in a position known as “superposition,” where they are either on or off simultaneously or in a space between them. Superpositions of qubits are what make quantum technologies so efficient.

A qubit may have 1 and 0 positions simultaneously. This is known as “superposition” in quantum Physics. So, two qubits could have four positions at the same time – 00, 01, 10, and 11. The quantum superposition of qubits is the thing that makes quantum computers extremely powerful.

Quantum computers have 16 combinations of 4 bits and are displayed together rather than separately. In this way, if we increase the number of QUBITS, then from 20 QUBITS 10 lakh results will be obtained in a second. If we calculate 2048 QUBITS Factors then it will take us many years, however, with quantum computers this calculation can be done within a single minute.

Classical computers are ideal for daily tasks that require to be accomplished with a computer. Quantum computers are ideal for simulations and data analysis like drug or chemical tests. However, these machines require a lot of cooling since they are more expensive and are more difficult to build.

It reveals the uncertainties between two different ends which isn’t the case with conventional computers. Physics researchers aren’t quite sure how or why quantum computing works. However, with the aid of quantum computation, scientists can also answer complex problems that require our supercomputers a long time to answer.

Quantum technology uses

Researchers believe that quantum technology will help in finding the most effective treatment for Alzheimer’s disease. Additionally, it provides precise forecasts of the stock market and weather can be made, and improving the cryptography process can accomplish things like making encryption extremely fast and easy. Not just that, however, it can also be used for tracking huge amounts of encrypted data by intelligence agencies across the globe. Quantum encryption is not copyable or hackable. They are completely burglar-free. Quantum computers can be utilized to perform Space Exploration, Robot Science, Medical Research, Research Projects, Advance Gaming, Servers, Weather Forecasting, or New Technological Research can be completed.

Quantum Computing has many other applications, like securely sharing information. Another approach is fighting against cancer and other health problems, like cancer, and developing new treatments. Quantum computers may aid in improving radars in their capacity to identify items like planes and missiles. Other applications include using quantum computing to clean water with chemical and environmental sensors.
